Vaiken Prime

For general information of Vaiken Prime, read here!

1049 ABY, 11th day of 11th month

Vaiken Prime is a recently discovered planet that was long hidden deep in the Maw region of the galaxy, a former sanctuary to the ancient Mortis deities and mysteries far older than the Jedi themselves. It now houses the most malevolent of militaries of the galaxy, the Order of the White Hand, who chose the planet as their base of operations due to it's secluded and secret position that only few could access. The planet was defended by an artificial shield that protected it from the harmful radiation of the many black holes in the region, allowing Admiral Raius and his forces to build their resources on the planet in peace. Although Admiral Raius has recently abandoned the base after their success on Belsavis, there is still a garrison worth of five-thousand men operating and protecting the base.

Their vast military complex was built a the base of a tall mountain range that led to a complex network of caves that were once inhabited by Killiks who were eventually exterminated by the legions commanded by Admiral Raius. The planet itself was powerful in the Force, however it wasn't adjacent to neither dark or the light side. If a Force-sensitive went to the planet, they'd likely notice that the planet had a very undecided or almost a chaotic presence in the Force. The planet was far more than meets the eye, and it had transformed to the desert it is only within a matter of centuries. It used to be the prison of the Bringer of Chaos, Abeloth until she was eventually killed in 112 ABY by the strength of the Jedi Council at the time, who managed to acquire the ancient Dagger of Mortis in order to kill her. Somewhere deep in the caves of the planet still remained the remnants of the now dry Fountain of Power and the Pond of Knowledge.

The Star of Tython began to slowly decelerate slowly, but surely, as it jumped out of hyperspace and finally arrived at their long awaited destination—Vaiken Prime. It was a long abandoned world, surrounded by myth and long gone presence of things that were as old as the galaxy itself. A world touched by gods, those of Mortis. It was an unholy place, and its presence in the Force fluctuated like a wild storm—forever undecided on what it is. It was once lush and full of life, however it has slowly turned into nothing but a decaying desert that was now tested by the many black holes of the Maw, with the world lying in its epicenter. The ship would arrive at the edge of the system as the Jedi protocol demanded—to ensure they had an advantage in terms of surveillance and could have time to prepare for any enemy forces present. However what took him back was the fact that there were far less of them present than expected—something didn’t seem right. Huyang monitored the techno and biosignatures present through the system as he oversaw the sensory data coming from the ships’ mainframe.

”There are far fewer forces of the White Hand present than expected. There’s no standing fleet orbiting the planet, and I can record only roughly five thousand biosignatures located in the possible enemy base. This could be a trap, but we have no other way than to spring it.”

Huyang uttered through his vocal processors as their ship slowly approached the planet, still far from the atmosphere.

1032 ABY, 11th day of the 11th month, Ambush in the Lothal Sector

The deafening roar of blaster fire echoed throughout the metallic corridors of the starship as young Jeh’Kant darted between control panels, desperately trying to restore power to the critical systems. What once was a simplistic, quiet mission had transitioned into a slaughter as screams of the innocent reverberated through the hallways. The acidic scent of burning electronics filled the air until it was a tangible taste upon the tongue. Yet Jeh’Kant continued to rampage through the ship electronics within the main operating system to find something—anything that could help them. The pungent taste of desperation was also on the tip of the tongue. The ship’s alarms blared in a cacophony of urgency warning hull breaches and most importantly, imminent danger.

It wasn’t until a dull thud of heavy boots against the cold metal door signaled the arrival of the enemy. He had already known that they had boarded the ship, repairing the main operating system was a longshot as they would’ve still had to deal with the troops that had boarded, however that was more plausible than the former. Each blinding flash of their weapons illuminated the countless bodies of troops that lay lifelessly sprawled across the floor. The door burst open as the young apprentice shot out towards the enemy troops catching them by surprise and dispatching of them rather quickly. Now he was making his way through the dimly lit corridors in search of his master. The ship was in stasis as the hum of the engine was now drowned out by the chaos of the battle. It was a fight for survival, with the fate of the entire crew and the ship hanging in balance.

The young apprentice panted heavily as he huffed while running through the corridors of chaos. Eventually reaching his master as they fought side by side. Jeh’Kant’s spirits revitalized as he yelled out toward his master, “Master, we can get through! I see our ship!” But by that time, they had already been surrounded. Immediately, everything came to a pause, as if the world had stopped and only Jeh’Kant and his Master were the ones capable of moving. “Run Jeh’Kant,” he heard as he glanced back at his Master through the frozen troops. “You have to leave, now!” Jeh’Kant’s eyes had become overcome with tears as tears streamed down his face while he nodded his head no. His Master screamed as the strength of the Force he was tapping into was an arduous task for anyone. While his mind said to stay, his body had a mind of his own. From that moment to the moment he was outside of the assaulted ship and watching as he fled, everything in between those two moments was blank. As if he had forgotten it to reduce his trauma. The last thing he remembered was the explosion on that side of the ship.

Now

Jeh’Kant instantly woke up as his entire body shot forward so he was sitting up in his bed. Jeh’Kant, panting loudly as if he was hyperventilating, glanced around his private chambers to figure out where he was. His entire body drenched in sweat to the point that even his bed sheet had become stained. It took a few seconds before he was able to collect himself as he rubbed his hand across his forehead, removing any remaining sweat off. Rest. He thought to himself as Huyang had recommended they rest. He hadn’t rested since that day. It was the very thing that made him leave the Jedi Order and become what was known in the world as a Gray Jedi. To him, the idea of the order was puzzling. All those rules, yet peace was not maintained. His beliefs had been challenged and perhaps, the Order needed to be removed. He clutches his hands into fist at the thought before easing up. Jeh’Kant got up as he removed his bedsheets before he stepped into the bathroom to clean himself up.

By the time he had, they had exited hyperspace and he had joined Huyang in the pilot chambers as if nothing had happened. Strapping himself in, Jeh’Kant watched as Huyang ran the scans for the biosignatures and listened to him as they came in below the threshold he had expected. “Great,” he responded to Huyang as they approached the planetary atmosphere. As they shifted through the louds, something caught his eye that opened his eyes immediately. “Mines.” He looked over at Huyang as he carefully maneuvered through them. “This isn't looking good Huyang, where’s Bearon?” he asked, waiting for Bearon to join them in the pilot cabin.

1049 ABY, 12th Day of 11th Month

Bereon sat cross legged whilst secluded in one of the spare chambers nearest his post in the ship. His mind adrift as he pondered on past memories as he always had on Coruscant. His now newly recovered arm tracing the old saber staff that his Master had gifted him so many years ago as commemoration for his ascension into knighthood. He still vividly remembered all of the time she invested into making him into the capable Shadow she knew he could be, and all the hardship she personally suffered to help him in seeing that goal through. Though these days it disgusted Bereon to his core to know that when it mattered most he wasn’t able to succeed in rescuing her when her ship was ambushed by a hidden Tengean fleet.

A subtle shift could be felt in the Force as his emotions began to rise to the surface, and he could feel a darkness seeping into the crevices of his being. Yet he wouldn’t allow himself to get lost in it. As soon as he could feel himself slipping away he immediately proceeded to suppress his inner bitterness with meditation to calm himself. The Jedi Master could not allow himself to lose sight of the goal if he wished to redeem her loss. It was of utmost importance that those that supported the Path Of Ashla succeed in their undertaking if there was ever to be any hope in restoring balance to the Galaxy.

It wouldn’t be but a few moments after he had taken time to find his center once more that Bereon would begin to sense the slight tension from Jeh’Kant nearby, thus prompting the massive Stenax to emerge before both he and Huyang before getting a first glimpse for himself at the current obstacle they now faced.

“Ah. That's quite the conundrum indeed,” He sighed.

It was a trap indeed: the enemy had left a minefield in their wake, and they clearly did so on purpose. Huyang surmised that the enemy must’ve decoded their messages to and from Belsavis, becoming aware that they might try and infiltrate their base of operations. They were a step behind, which was indeed unfortunate considering the circumstances. He however had little time to consider any variables; he had to act. His left hand accessed the control panel of the shield generator swiftly while the mine explosions battered the ship from each and every direction, trying to salvage the control electronics and the engines from any possible damage as he turned on the already battered shields of the ship.

“Affirmative. We sprung a tra-”

Huyang’s vocal processor suddenly stopped working as his link was still attached to the mainframe of the ship, he was running surface scans to properly map the base; in which he did in fact succeed. However, the explosions coming from the mines were just enough to temporarily shut the control electronics, forcing young Kai to manually operate the landing as Huyang suffered the same fate as the control electronics, falling into a fail safe -mode as his ocular sensors blinked between yellow and black erratically. It was likely that he was out of use for the duration of the mission, thus the two Jedi would have to rely on SB-33 for the mission. The brief parting gift that Huyang had remaining for them was the map of the base, now uploaded to the mainframe of the ship.

It seemed that misfortunate always found where they were. The mines weren't even the worst of it as the electronics flickered on and off before fully falling into their fail safe mode. This in turn forced Jeh'Kant to have to manually land, which wasn't an issue at all, but it was still a bit bumpy in comparison. He glanced over at Huyang, whose ocular sensors were erratically flickering between yellow and black. "Well, that's not good." he said out loud mainly towards Bereon Vyr. Jeh'Kant reached out towards the holo device in between the controls clicking it as it projected the map of the base. "At least we have something. We'll leave Huyang hear and infiltrate the base ourselves." He said as he got up and made his way to the common area of the ship. "Get whatever you need in the equipment area and we'll get going." Jeh'Kant made his way towards the cargo door as he had to manually open it without the assistant of any electronics.

As Jeh’Kant passed by him, Bereon would take a glance at the now currently compromised Huyang as he took in the gravity of their situation. Clearly they had been purposely led to this place so that a prepared enemy may intercept their path. Moreover, they now did not have access to vast knowledge that the ancient droid held and could provide to them at a crucial moment like this. The two Jedi Masters only had themselves and their skills to rely upon to assist them in this endeavor. Fortunately for the two of them the mission ahead allowed them to fully utilize their natural abilities to their fullest as infiltration was Bereon’s bread and butter, whilst Jeh’Kant and his inclination to be so unpredictable could throw off many foes.

“I suppose this is a rare instance in which discussing a plan in advance would simply be a waste of time,” he stated bluntly as he would make his way to the equipment bay to secure a single small caliber bolt blaster to tuck under his robe before promptly rejoining with Jeh’Kant as the duo would prepare themselves to exit the ship and face whatever may come their way on this forsaken planet.

“Let's begin” he would say in his more usual authoritative tone.

Meanwhile he would attune his mind with the Force, allowing it to flow freely through him, his very essence in it being made to compress down further and further. His presence being made to shrink down less and less until he rapidly reached a point of appearing more ethereal in nature, and then a few moments after that his presence would continue to shrink down to such an extreme that his presence in the Force seemed entirely naught. Then once the very essence of his being could no longer be made to condense itself down any further, as it had essentially reached the point of singularity, and once he had achieved this state of being in the Force it would appear to the world itself as if the Shadow had left no trace of his existence whatsoever. So once the door to the ship would be made to open it would appear as only one Jedi emerging.

He would now speak to Jeh’Kant via telepathy as he took to the skies and made a B-Line for the enemy base.

Let’s accomplish what we need to do here and then leave this place as quickly as possible.

SB-33, the Greatest Astromech in the Galaxy

1049 ABY, midnight, 12th day of 11th month, the Infiltration

1703602464332.jpeg

Now that Huyang was, unfortunately, out of commission when it came down to concluding this mission, SB-33 had to step up. And he was certainly more than capable of doing so, as long as he remained intact. The third generation of SB-droids was a success for Industrial Automaton, having struck the gold vein just like they once had with the R2-line. SB-line was a combination of the BB-line and the R2-line of astromechs, combining their best qualities. However, SB-33 was an exception and wasn’t even going to be sold—on the contrary, he was meant to be disposed of after his programming was deemed too rash due to malfunctioning control units. He was, for a lack of better words, foul mouthed and least helpful if his help wasn’t earned. Jeh’Kant had long earned his respect, just like his master before him, and thus he always accompanied him on his missions. His programming was masculine, and he had a knack for flirting with any piece of technology that had feminine programming, sometimes for worse considering that it distracts him from his tasks. SB-33 rolled down the boarding ramp, accompanying Jeh’Kant to view the blueprints of the White Hands’ base—and he picked up a path to the inside immediately.

”Bleep boop bleep beep.” (There’s a waste disposal port, it’s the only viable entrance point. A mile off but they won’t notice us going in, they’re prepared for a frontal assault more than likely.)

SB-33 beeped away with a serious tone to his sound processor, as he then looked at Bereon Vyr departing—only now recognizing that he was a winged being. SB-33 beeped in slight astonishment, however, if one knew what he said, his speech was far from happy and cute. Quite the opposite, in fact.

”Bleep beep boop bleep beep beep!” (That big ass dude just flew off! Look at him! Hahhahhah! Anyway, Jeh’Kant dude, should we go?)

SB-33 beeped again, trying to communicate with his master.

The boarding door slid open as the boarding ramp unraveled before them. Bereon Vry and Jeh'Kant didn't say much to each other but they both had an idea of the plan. While Bereon Vry would use his stealth abilities to sneak into the base undetected, Jeh'Kant will draw the enemies attention. "Actually, SB-33," Jeh'Kant said out loud as he walked down the ramp next to the astromech. "We'll be going through the front." Without saying much further, Jeh'Kant would begin walking towards the enemy base which was quite a distance away.

Gamemaster Report:

Due to neglecting the time-limit, Canaan Jackal under risk of being ineligible to post as Bereon Vyr in this present cycle, therefore DarthVerus (as SB-33 and other non-player characters) is eligible to post from 22:34 29.12.2023 (UTC +2 or 10:34 EET)

Verdict: DarthVerus is eligible to post. Canaan Jackal’s character Bereon Vyr has successfully infiltrated the White Hand base through the waste disposal port. His character is currently in an empty corridor with two blast doors sealing the corridor on both sides (with the corridor being roughly 150 meters in length, six metres in height and eight metres in width). The southern blast door, if opened, would lead to areas closer to the front gate, while the northern one—which is his objective—would lead him closer to the enemy command room. However, he’d sense an uneasy presence near him.

SB-33, the Greatest Astromech in the Galaxy

1049 ABY, midnight, 12th day of 11th month, the Infiltration

1703885443754.jpeg

The droid, albeit not physically, but at least his programming would fume due to the idea of a frontal assault. ”What?!?!” He would quickly process the situation and it was certainly clear to the droid that it was best that the two Jedi did use their skills to the best of their ability—Bereon, being a former Jedi Shadow was far more adept at infiltration unnoticed while Jeh’Kant’s skills lied in the art of war. However, according to the map uploaded by Huyang, the main gate was guarded by at least a platoon of one-hundred White Hand troopers who were the creme de la creme of the old Galactic Alliance. They likely provided fire from within the front wall, being that the base complex was a sealed space. The front wall was roughly three-hundred meters in width, and thirty meters in height. It was heavily fortified with gunning positions that were roughly a meter in height and width, placed five meters apart from one another. And on top of the wall, there were twenty automated turrets with turbolaser capability. Beyond the main gate, was a corridor that was twenty meters in height and width, and five-hundred meters long and it led to a conference room in the north, while on the sides there were multiple facilities containing weapons and ammunition. All in all, they were heavily outnumbered and outgunned. SB-33 did know that his trusted master could likely handle it, but he was more or less worried about his own security.

”Beep bloop beep beep bloop, beep beep bloop beep?!?” (Hold on, didn’t you see the fortifications of that wall?? Even if we get through the main gate, we’re expected by at least five platoons worth of troopers and combat droids! What am I gonna do there?! I’ll get blown up dude!)

The droid beeped in disarray, as he followed his master through the rough sand terrain of Vaiken Prime. As Jeh’Kant went on, the Force would begin calling to him—an old friend from afar would try to warn him. ”Jeh’Kant… If you hear me… The path ahead will bring you back to your past. Beware of Bogan, he is far more powerful than me and you both.” The whispers were fleeting, but audible if only Jeh’Kant listened to the Force and what it had to tell. It was Bendu, his teacher, who tried to reach out for Jeh’Kant. Bendu had foreseen the things that were to come. The Will of the Force itself would be challenged, even conquered perhaps.

Meanwhile, in Bereon Vyr’s position, he could sense a dark presence nearing him constantly despite his apparent invisibility physically and in the realm of the Force. A challenge was nearing him, one he perhaps didn’t have the tools for solving.

The hope was that by capitalizing on their strengths the success rate of their mission would skyrocket. Bereon Vry was a master of stealth, an assassin through and through. Hopefully, by the time they were out of there, it would be too late for the enemy force to realize what exactly had happened. In the meantime, to further assist Bereon Vry, Jeh’Kant Kai would focus on distracting the enemy. A frontal assault would without a doubt be suicide, but there were other ways to distract an enemy.

“No,” Jeh’Kant responded to SB-33 “Not a frontal assault. I’ll be approaching from the front as a friendly” Jeh’Kant said as he pulled out white cloth to save around as a surrender flag. “Meanwhile, you will approach from another location. Peak around the area, we have the map, and it's uploaded to your systems as well - hopefully, you can find something or an opportunity for when we need to get out.”

With that being said, Jeh’Kant would begin making his way towards the front gates. Not showing any sign of malice or any sign that he was a threat. If anything, with his attire and expensive clothing, he was looking more like a politician than a Force-user. Jeh’Kant began to wave around the white flag as he came closer and closer to the front gates approaching with caution. “I come in peace! I am a mere politician hoping to speak to someone in charge. My name is Ka'reen!” Suddenly, he heard a voice through the Force. He was quick to recognize his Master’s voice which headed him of what was to come. The whisper came and went, but it was enough for him to discern.

This sudden sense of impending danger was not at all lost to the Stenax in the slightest. Moreover, having had such extensive experience in various high stakes situations told him to always listen to his gut instinct in order to navigate such instances. Bereon would immediately proceed to advance upon the northern blast door as he simultaneously expanded his consciousness in the Force via the Art of The Small in conjunction with using his mind’s eye to give him sight within the Force itself, thus affording him the capacity to now temporarily perceive everything present within the enemy stronghold at a cellular level. This way if any enemy wished to somehow ambush him while in this state of hyper awareness, then he could give himself ample opportunity to deny such an approach outright. After all, the greatest threat to any assassin was always another assassin.

However, it was too much of an imperative that he reach their mission objective and not be drawn into any long skirmishes, otherwise the success of their mission risked dropping significantly. So, in the meantime, he would opt to close the distance upon the blast door within less than a few seconds, igniting his saber staff without hesitation as he went before stabbing through and carving an upside down ‘U’ within the door, all before kicking it down with his powerful legs.

I can’t allow myself to be delayed here! Focus on nothing more than accomplishing the task at hand and keep moving!

The droid baffled at the young Jedi’s plan, however, as much as the droid processed various options, the one presented was perhaps the most viable one. SB-33 had the best chances of completing the actual objective of the mission and more than likely had the best chance of navigating the base without getting caught, being that he fit into the air vents and maintenance tunnels more easily than either Jeh’Kant or Bereon. The best course of action for the droid would be following in Bereon’s footsteps, but instead of infiltrating the main corridors of the base, SB-33 would take to the maintenance tunnels from where he could also, at least partially, manipulate the circuits of the base itself if he could find the main fuse control box. SB-33 beeped with certain confidence to him, as if he suddenly caught the idea of what to do and how to. He was up to the task, more than certainly.

“Beep, bleep boop beep beep!” (Alright big guy, just don’t get shot. I’ll try and do a couple tricks to help you and the other guy. Off I go!)

SB-33 beeped as he utilized his locomotion system, with small rocket thrusters emerging from within his back legs. As they ignited, SB-33 flew off into the distance quite quickly as he took it onto himself to find a viable route to help his friends.

ybhVVgmmc-2psCPEv9kEvIw0QhGGHJYWrpKQH-qRXsdE4K8UtZKA2bmeacj14AazjJhFLpDLGHteVLN_CNd0Z17o6-gIgrkdXQW4lUOOLt6yUDt97L0UnXdmZbd2y-tul03XGsXmIVjb-hqFdrVPrrs

The commandos stationed at the front gate of the White Hand’s fortress were more or less tired and bored with their job at this point. They shot at sand for fun at times, and barely retained their focus on the task at hand. They were certainly aware of the fact that their orbital mines were sprung, but they had full confidence in the fact that their potential intruders likely died with the explosion. “I don’t know why Commander Trevis is making such a ruse out of this man, if the recon report is true it was just one corvette and not some squadron. I’d rather be stationed in Corellia with the rest of our guys.” Spoke one of the commandos to another as they were stationed on the wall, as he stared through his gunning hole while in shooting position. His colleague certainly shared his sentiments. “Yeah man, Trevis is just having us do work while we have nothing to do. I’d rather be cleaning corridors of a Starhawk than being here anyway. I’ve served here for what, almost two decades? This place still sucks. I wish we could go back in time and.. Wait, there’s someone.” The commandos, along with the rest of the stationed soldiers on the wall quickly regained their focus on the task at hand and took aim at the approaching, hooded man from the height of their walls. Along with it, the automated turrets all took aim at the man; firepower worth two-hundred commandos, along with the twelve turbolaser turrets.

“He looks like a Jedi, we might have something going on here.” said ensign Kyler, one of the commandos that took part in the prior conversation. “Yeah, I’m gonna shoot.. Oh wait, he’s waving a white flag???" Ensign Jeffer spoke with Kyler, as they kept their aim on the suspect. In the meanwhile, Kyler enabled the comm device integrated in his helmet as he called their supervisor, Commander Trevis. “Uhh, sir Commander. There’s someone named Ka.. I think Karen at the front gates, we suspect he’s a Jedi but he’s waving a white flag. We can’t just shoot him, that’d be criminal.” he spoke, while Commander Trevis himself was pacing angrily towards the main gate with two platoons of troopers formed up behind him. He responded with irritation and anger, and was certainly more than ready to shoot the intruder himself.

“Karen?! A Jedi suspect!? If you're incapable of pulling the trigger I will handle… No actually, we’ll bite the bait. Inform Counselor Rotas of this.”

The commander spoke with authority and irritation as he reached the grand main gate as it began to open upwards. He noticed the Jedi ahead of him, approaching roughly fifty meters away from the gate. Two of the platoons behind him quickly formed into lines along the walls, preparing to shoot the Jedi intruder. The Jedi was now faced by more than six-hundred soldiers with their aim readied at him, and the turrets. Commander Trevis quickly took his opportunity to speak to the intruder.

”Diplomat Karen? That is the single worst disguise for a Jedi I’ve heard of. You have more firepower aimed at you than you can handle. What is your purpose here?”

The commander asked, as he immediately called the Jedi out for dishonesty. Meanwhile, on the far side of the base, another Jedi had already infiltrated the base—however, his appearance had long been foreseen. A certain dark Jedi had already long awaited him, a servant to Lord Verus and one of his most trusted counselors, Counselor Izil. He was awaiting him as the Jedi kicked down the cut blast door, roughly fifty meters away from him. Although his echo in the Force was present prior to the Jedi carving his way through, his true presence in the realspace and the Force had been hidden much prior. He was one of the Oroki species, one of the last of their kind. They had the power to phase between the realspace and hyperspace, thus he could easily lay in hyperspace, waiting for the arrival of the Jedi while hiding. He had foreseen his arrival through the Force much before the Jedi had even entered the base, as both of the Counselors present in the base already anticipated their visitors. Izil emerged as if out of thin air with his lightsaber ignited, as he stared at the Jedi with intent with his pale, emotionless eyes while his third crimson eye seemed to gaze through the Jedi, even if he thought himself to be invisible to anything. His red eye could see the midi-chlorians within him, a trait unique to his species. He knew exactly where he was, and had already seen how he looked. The Jedi had no reason to hide anymore. He wore robes traditional to that of his species, instead of anything that even reminded of Jedi tradition or anything else.

“It has been quite a while since I’ve last seen an actual Jedi.”

The dark Jedi uttered, as the hum of his lightsaber echored through the corridor.

It was without a doubt the worst possible outcome that could have occurred at that moment in time. Firstly, while their arrival was expected, the nature of the trap that the duo of Jedi had decidedly stepped into was something entirely different in nature to what they probably had thought initially. Secondly, Bereon Vyr had been intercepted by the lone Dark Jedi at the most crucial juncture of their mission before he could reach their target objective. And thirdly, it didn’t take Bereon but a moment to identify that he was at a stark disadvantage due to both the species of the Dark Jedi along with the surrounding area impeding his capacity to utilize his combat form to its utmost. He had managed to take account of every being within the vicinity and beyond, except for the enemy that now stood before him. Despite his incredible powers of perception, it was as if this entity had merely materialized from another plane entirely to block his path at this exact point in time.

And with the realization that dawned on the Jedi Master he realized that they had been checkmated strategically. That being said, due to the severity of the consequences that failure would bring on top of the fact that he knew that this was an enemy he could not simply evade meant that he only had one option. He had to fight, and he had to win.

“What a coincidence it is that I happen to meet my natural enemy in this place. And just when I was beginning to wonder if the great Oroki had faded into the realm of oblivion as a species. Yet here we are,” Bereon spoke as he too fully unveiled his presence, whilst partially alluding to the fact that he was now acknowledging that his typical method of infiltration would no longer be sufficient. He personally had no experience in dealing with such a foe considering that the Oroki for the most part had been considered nearly extinct throughout the galaxy for quite some time. As such he couldn’t simply rush the Dark Jedi haphazardly without first observing what he was capable of even if the fact remained that time was not on their side. He would instead opt for a more defensive approach until he could personally assess the enemy while also formulating a plot in opening up space for himself to take to the air.

The Force would begin to move and take shape, quickly erecting itself into the form of a protective sphere to guard Bereon from all sides, and in that same instant he would use the Force to telekinetically take hold of the previously downed blast door, still smoldering around where his lightsaber pike had just carved into it, before launching it over himself at his adversary to test his opponent’s reaction as his mind’s eye remained fixated upon his target.

And with that the first of many pivotal duels between the forces of Ashla and the forces of Bogan was now officially under way...

It wasn’t challenging for Jeh’Kant to sense the Dark Jedi that roamed the corridors, but it remained surprising that Bereon Vry, a respectable master in the art of stealth, was so easily found. They had been expected, yet even then — there was a feeling of despair churning in his stomach, especially with Master Bendu’s warning. Jeh’Kant could also sense through the Force the automated turrets alongside the hundreds of commandos readying themselves as the unknown man approached. He yelled out loud, “Please don’t shoot! I am but a mere humble diplomat coming to bow my head in servitude to the Great Lord.” Jeh’Kant knew he’d need more as he left behind an essence of Force in his last footstep. Subtle, yet it would prove most useful.

By the time the thought processed, the grand main gate began to open as Jeh’Kant continued to wave the white flag ‘surrendering’ to the enemy. Two platoons swiftly formed a commanding line along the walls prepared to shoot at the authoritative commander’s order. The Commander spoke up to Jeh’Kant, who listened keenly but interrupted the Commander almost immediately before he could finish his sentence. “JEDI?!” Jeh’Kant yelled out in a panic, utterly confused. “Where?!” Jeh’Kant began to look around next to him in the utmost panic one could. A ball of sweat rolled down his face as he looked genuinely terrified, “JEDI!” He said once he turned around fully from the general area aside from where he’d come from. He’d point in a manner that commanded everyone to look off into the distance as a silhouette of a man could be made. “THERE’S THE JEDI! RUNNNNNN!!!” Assumably, fire would begin and once that was settled they would have to send troopers to identify anybody due to the distance. That was an opportunity.

Without hesitation, Jeh’Kant began running toward the grand main gate. Well, if you could call it that. The way he ran was almost like a child who had not become accustomed to their body. He ran in the most uncoordinated, untrained manner ever. His arms were straight out and close to his body, his abandon tight, as well as his neck almost as if he had refused to allow any of his upper body to “bounce” in even the slightest. It was the most peculiar of things and the most horrendous technique one could witness, yet he was moving nonetheless. It was fight or flee. Clearly, by how the man portrayed himself, it was crystalline that this man chose to flee ten out of ten times.

By the time Jeh’Kant would’ve entered the gate, he would’ve run inside and found the closest corner to “cower” inside the main palace. He sat with his knees together and his arms wrapped around his legs. And then it began. Softy, very softly, Jeh’Kant began to whimper. He titled his head down into the crevice of his legs and his shoulders slumped forward. Then, as if on cue, he began to cry. Nothing too loud, nothing too overwrought. Just a leaky faucet of emotion; drip, drip, drip of messy emotions — sobbing to himself alone. There was something called selling it too much, then there was also something called not selling it enough. This moment was perfect, chef's kiss!

SB-33, the Greatest Astromech in the Galaxy

1049 ABY, midnight, 12th day of 11th month, the Infiltration

S5xzYyP99GnW1BGHn_0baZ8t1_V_QEYlMs3p0O7Z1s29yAGDlX7JmOMLV4IIHLyh6EsDFCpIgj1010sDXHf5tW4RWtwaufK8eP99nYzX5cR0_c5ThKjB60ZafHVHWe9lUnvOkSMhmtKHQOUDhcyWu8w

The astromech droid had reached the waste exhaust port and had similarly infiltrated the maintenance corridors in which he just managed to fit as the droid nearly stumbled on the wirings and the tubes running across the walls of the maintenance corridor. The corridors ran parallel to the actual, physical corridors of the base which allowed him to also move in parallel to Bereon Vyr, being only separated by two meters of wall materials. However, as soon as he noticed that the winged Jedi had been met by a foe that was a tad bit too much for the droid, the droid would merely carry on and try to reach the central control room. The droid, although his acoustic processors didn’t beep, processed quite a bit of thoughts regarding the situation.

“Beep, beep boop beep, beep.” (Yeah I’m not going to join the big fella in that fight, looks like Jedi business, and Jedi business it will remain.)

The droid “thought” to himself, while he carried on and ventured through the maintenance tunnels of the base complex.

At the gate...

In the meanwhile, the “heroics” of Jeh’Kant Kai certainly proved to cause confusion among the White Hand commandos and Commander Trevis—or a rather deep and unshakeable irritation within the latter. The misdirection of the young Jedi, in fact, worked on the troopers on the wall and within the wall as all of them began to fire at the sands behind the Jedi-in-bad-disguise as soon as he indicated that there was a Jedi coming from somewhere behind him. However, Commander Trevis who still stood at the gate, was not as convinced and found the discipline and the ability of his veteran troopers nearly baffling as their decision-making seemed to hit an all-time low within just a second. “Shoot the Jedi!” screamed Ensign Jeffer as him and his compatriot Kyler fired like there was no tomorrow. Their blaster rifles began to overheat from the amount of energy they wasted on mere emptiness and sands. As they shot at the emptiness of the deserts, a cloud of dust and sand would soon rise to block all visibility of the troopers that were stationed within the walls, which is when they ended their blaster barrage. As the cloud rose, soon enough the troopers that stood at the walls rushed in the cloud of debris to confirm the identity of the “Jedi” they shot. As this happened, Commander Trevis roared and fumed with all the anger in the world as he yelled at all the troopers that committed their firepower to an empty threat.

“You idiots! There’s no one there! The automated turrets aren’t firing! I’ll execute all of-”

The commander abruptly ended his roars as he watched the supposed Jedi running inside in the most pathetic manner he could possibly ever witness. His expression was baffled least to say, with his eyes still filled with anger and if his jaw could drop to the floor, it probably would. As Jeh’Kant ran inside, the platoon that still stood behind Trevis quickly formed around him as they all prepared their blaster rifles to shoot at the now sobbing, crawled-up-in-a-corner Jedi. Trevis approached Jeh’Kant as he looked down on him, still baffled.

“This has to be a joke.”

Trevis uttered with almost as if disbelief, as one of the commandos that ventured into the dust cloud soon ran back to the vicinity of the gates, screaming from outside. “Sir, there was no Jedi there!” as he heard the scream, the commander rolled his eyes in utmost annoyance as he kept his sight locked on the sobbing Jedi-in-disguise.

“Get up, if you want diplomacy, you’ll have to meet my superior.”

Trevis uttered again, as he spoke to the supposed Jedi.

The Duel...

In the meanwhile, tensions arose as the servants of Ashla and Bogan met at last—the two powers that had been locked in eternal symbiosis and combat were now embodied in one fallen Jedi, and one who hadn’t fallen yet. The Oroki observed the winged Jedi with his pale eyes as if a hunter gazed upon his prey, with his sole objective being the capture of the Jedi instead of killing him. He knew full well what the Jedi and his allies sought on this base, and whether or not they could acquire the information they came for was insignificant in the grand scheme of things. The servants of Ashla were far too late, slow and blind. They should’ve reacted centuries earlier, but that was the cost of the blindness of the Jedi. Their fall and loss to Tengeans, the ruin of galactic civilization, all happened due to the lack of foresight and vision. He held his lightsaber tight in his right hand, as he called upon the Force to gather about him as a field of protection that formed into an invisible bubble that’d keep him out of harm's way. It protected him within a range of one meter to each size, forming about his body. His face was plastered with an ever widening smirk as he observed his opponent, probing his emotions and thoughts through the Force. He listened to his opponent with care, feeling tempted to laugh at his remarks.

“Natural enemy? I know you, although you may not know me. I remember your master, pity that she had to die. I was a Shadow once as well. Now… I’m a shade of a larger darkness that will soon consume the galaxy and beyond.”

He remarked with ire as he then proceeded to further observe his opponent, sensing as he gathered the Force about him. He himself then further delved his focus on the dark side of the Force, allowing it to fuel his body and it’s every cell. As soon as he saw his opponent raise the downed blast door and launch it at him, he quickly charged himself forth in a blitzing manner—reappearing merely three meters away from the winged Jedi in but a tenth of a second while having ducked the smoldered door on his path in a fast, yet a precise fashion. His speed was blinding to a naked eye, and immense even to those skilled in the ways of the Force. He reappeared with his body already emerging in a bladed stance—with his right foot placed forward and the left foot behind as his right hand, holding the lightsaber, being thrusted forth towards the chest of the winged Jedi as if in a manner of a fencing stab. His right wrist was facing up, while the only exposed part of his body remained to be his side and his right leg, with him placing the most of his weight on the leg—his stance resembling that of a fencer, highlighting his practice of Makashi greatly. He kept his gaze on his target while his smirk only widened. The first obvious tell of the attack was that he was fairly out of range when it came to a direct strike, but he was also out of the range for a counter, unless the Jedi was fast enough to use his spear. As he thrusted his lightsaber into a stab, it seemed to extend its length to three meters precisely and approach the Jedi’s chest like a snake—suddenly turning into a whip that’d reach for its target. The strike would reach his chest within another tenth of a second, making the duration of the Oroki’s counter attack merely two tenths of a second.

Flaws within your (Bereon) previous post that I exploited:
  • You didn’t mention where you aimed the door at precisely, or the speed it was flung at

Jeh’Kant continued to sob regardless of the platoon standing before him ready to shoot. He had to remain disciplined to the script he had written until the very last second. Fortunately, Commander Trevis had stopped them from firing and approached Jeh’Kant stating they would have to go meet their supervisor which caused him to peek his head out of his lap. The Commander, who Jeh’Kant could already sense had strong disgust towards, would see tears rolling down his face like raging water down a stream. His eyes were also bloodshot red which helped further help his case. “T-T-Th- Thank y-y-you!” Jeh'Kant choked up as he stood up and ran toward the Commander practically falling into his arms as if he were a child. Jeh’Kant held him tightly with his arms wrapped around him as his head nuzzled into his chest. Jeh’Kant’s tears and snot would transfer over onto the Commander’s uniform, surely adding to the annoyance and distaste, yet furthering painting a picture of a pathetic diplomat.

Underneath the facade, Jeh’Kant was brainstorming solutions with his brain moving a hundred miles per hour in thought. “They’ve dropped their guard, even if it's a bit. Jeh’Kant thought to himself, “I’m away from the turrets so I don’t have to worry about them, so I could just go and meet the supervisor. No — if that interaction goes bad then I’ll be outnumbered even more than I already am.” The wheels continued to turn, “Bereon’s already been engaged and we still don’t have an escape plan.. I guess that leaves me only one choice.” By the time Jeh’Kant had released the Commander from the hug, he had finished processing a plan and would hold the Commander by his shoulders as he moved his body away. Unbeknownst to him, the platoons behind the Commander, and in general every enemy body, would begin to levitate up ten, twenty, thirty feet almost had no defense to what was occurring. They would’ve been in the Force Choke hold the moment they began levitating with an equivalent pressure of a full size gorilla. Staring into the eyes of the Commander, Jeh’Kants grip tightened as the tears instantly stopped flowing. The sound of weapons crashing into the ground echoed throughout the room they were in as the Commander could begin to realize what was happening with his throat becoming choked. “You should’ve shot.”

The Commander then would also raise up the height of his platoon as the Force Choke would take hold of him just before Jeh’Kant had said anything if the Commander had no defense. Jeh’Kant would wipe the remaining tears off his eyes as he glanced around the area looking for any more enemy forces that could potentially enter. As he did, his eyes were dull and lifeless — looking past the countless lifeless bodies that remained hovering in the air as if they were nothing. Exits, entrances, all were being taken into account as he pulled up the holo device to illuminate the map. He’d have to thin the herd so to speak as he waited for the signal from Bereon or SB.

Counselor Rotas, Hand of Verus

Vaiken Prime, midnight, 1049 ABY, 12th day of 11th month, The Duel at the Gate

1704318291253.jpeg

Indeed Commander Trevis should’ve taken his shot when he had a chance. The soon-to-be-dead troopers and their leader were grasping for breath, with their arteries and neck muscles giving out as the Force took their lives away. Ironic, as all things come from the Force and eventually become one with it yet again. Some of old age, some of sickness, some of disease, some by the hands of a Jedi. But as it seemed, Jeh’Kant had little light left in him. He resorted to lies, subterfuge, and abilities that one could deem far from those adjacent to the Jedi. Perhaps, that was exactly what the supervisor sought for. While the young Jedi choked the troopers and their commander, he could slow, calm steps and the hum of a lightsaber. The light emanating from it began to reflect on the walls, as if illuminating the corridor and acting as the light at the end of the tunnel. The two-hundred troopers outside soon began to gather at the entrance of the gate, witnessing the slaughter of their comrades and their commander. Jeh’Kant could also hear the running steps of those troopers that were guarding defensive positions within the wall. And, there were still over four thousand soldiers present in the base. As much power as he had, he was fairly outnumbered. And, he got to meet the ”supervisor”—whether he meant to or not. Rotas meant to meet him regardless of what happened at the gate; himself and his colleague Izil had foreseen their arrival. And so had their master, Verus. He specifically ordered the two to meet the intruding Jedi, knowing that they would come to the planet. The dark Jedi, clad in dark and red robes, wielding his crimson lightsaber pointed at the ground in his right hand, and a helmet of a fallen Death Watch -member now stood but fifty meters across from the young Jedi—watching on as the body of Trevis and his guard platoon fell on the floor.

”Well fuck, he should’ve shot you. Idiots, they had it coming for ’em. Force Choke? Now that’s not a Jedi technique, guess time’s done it’s job with you too. You look familiar, Cain’s pupil? If you’re that kid then we’ve met before, I looked a bit different back then though. I knew Cain pretty well.”

The dark Jedi spoke with utmost ease to his voice, as if he almost enjoyed what he saw. His accent indicated that he certainly wasn’t from the Core Worlds, but likely from the Outer Rim. The troopers at the gate took their aim at Jeh’Kant while the wall troopers were still on their way, and he’d have a far harder time getting around Rotas than he had with the troopers. Jeh’Kant was outgunned and well-matched. The Force emanated through the corridor as if a freezing cold wind, with the dark side surrounding the dark Jedi like a whirlwind. If one thing was obvious, he was powerful. He was indeed the right hand man of Lord Verus himself, a much trusted servant. The Force began to take shape of an invisible protective sphere about him, shaping in a radius of two meters around him. He took his encounter with the young Jedi with caution. He knew he couldn’t take him on lightly, especially if he truly was Cain’s apprentice. And if so, he’d have much to report to his master.

”Why don’t we have a nice lil’ chat kid, I haven’t spoken to an actual old school Jedi in a bit. Not sure if you are that anymore. Why won’t you join us? We dress alright and have… Well, let’s just say freedom and power.”

The dark Jedi carried on with his speech, retaining his easy-going mannerisms and tone.
