Bereon wasted no time in proceeding to identify the location of the separate weapons hanger that were sometimes seen with this particular ship's model. And within mere seconds the high-pitched whining of consecutive blaster fire could be heard along with the screams of the trooper's unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of an intense volley. The former assassin wasn’t too much concerned with the idea of precision, as the sheer number of enemies swarming them made it more pertinent to adopt a spray and prey method as a means to continue to force the currently distracted Coruscanti Security Forces to retain enough of a distance to allow the trio the opportunity at the soonest possible moment to exit the vicinity.

Although from the looks of things it appeared as though additional measures beyond this might be required to evade to fully escape the onslaught of foes who continued to advance closer and closer to their current position. Though for now his focus would be on trimming down the enemy’s numbers as much as possible.

They didn’t have any time to waste or else they’d be caught cornered. Clearly outnumbered, they’d have to resort to tricks and experience to outmaneuver the enemy forces. The troopers that had begun fire at the phantoms would remain preoccupied with them and take them far away from their actual location, shifting through alleyways as blaster fire rained down upon them. By the time they reached the ship, SB-33 had already mobilized the ship so it was prepared to take off. Huyang was the first to enter as he quickly made his way to the cockpit as he managed the controls and the settings. Bereon Vyr was next as he made his way to the weapon hanger and would begin doing what he did best. Jeh’Kant was the last to enter and as he did he practically punched the button to close the loading ramp behind him before he too entered into the cockpit and sat in the pilot seat.

Jeh’Kant quickly strapped himself in as he began adjusting some of the controls on his end. “Good job 33!” He said happily with the functions and controls, “Huyang, we’re probably going to run into the same fleet from earlier. We can’t afford to get into a gunfight.” The ship began to lift as it rocketed toward and away from the way they had entered, hoping that the further down they go they'd avoid enemy troops so make it easier for them to enter into orbit and thus hyperspace.

As their ship took off and with the ground security handled more than well, the next challenge of the team would lie in escaping the system altogether. Despite young Kai’s optimism, a gunfight could certainly not be avoided. All of the calculations Huyang had made and even the data pointed towards a hard-fought escape, unfortunately for them. Huyang processed the situation accordingly as he used the shield control panel with his left utility-hand to preemptively direct energy to their front shields all the while he used his link-device to show an accurate depiction of the Defense Fleets’ positioning across Coruscant’s orbit—projecting image through the holoterminal located in the middle of the cockpits’ control panel.

Huyang made these calculations with swift and accurate precision almost immediately as they took off, a protocol programmed into him—to make any calculations that can aid the Jedi. Their task would, however, be immensely arduous least to say. The Galactic Alliance took and replicated elements from both the New Republic navy and the former Imperial navy, combining the best products of the former militaries. As such, all Mark IX Starhawk -battlecruisers were equipped with Interdictor -technology, allowing them to prevent or intercept hyperspace travel by creating artificial gravity wells within real space.

”According to my data, that is impossible. Unfortunately, it seems our only way out of this is by trying to run through the blockade. The Defense Fleet has spread through all across the Coruscanti orbit in order to prevent any ship from leaving, ours to be exact. Oh well, as sir Farr used to say: that’s where the fun begins. We must prepare for a frontal assault.”

Huyang uttered through his vocal processors with brutal honesty as always, as suddenly their comms terminal seemed to open forcefully. The message could be heard across the entire ship. ”This is Captain Herd of the Coruscant Defense Fleet, again. I confirmed that Lieutenant Val was apparently killed in battle with the Coalition, I should’ve seen through your trick. And that you were flying a Jedi corvette. You’re not going to escape, and I’m sending our fighters on your tail. Have fun.” The transmission was straightforward and clear—Captain Herd didn’t quite enjoy Huyang’s previous trick at all. As soon as the transmission ended, rapid and continuous fire was opened on them. Not any fire, but clearly from a turbolaser. Their frontal shields wouldn’t be able to take too many of such shots, therefore such certainly required evasive maneuvers from the pilot. And on top of that, the orbital horizon was blotted out by dozens of former Alliance A-wing fighters, coming right at them.

”I’m directing full output to the main engines.”

Huyang uttered through his vocal processors, suggesting that the fastest way out was simply by running through the blockade and evading as much fire as they could.

It was an incredible sight to behold indeed. He had simply not seen such a high concentration of ships in a singular place since the Tengean Invasion. One could easily be convinced that the Defense Fleet were going to war again as opposed to simply stopping a single ship of trespassers if one didn’t know any better. Although as much as he despised those participating in this charade, primarily because it was at the behest of those bastard bureaucrats, Bereon couldn’t help but marvel at their extraordinary response time. However this was not the time to be impressed by such a display of force, especially considering that practically the entire might of Coruscant itself seemed to wish to swoop down on the Jedi duo and their Droid compatriot.

Bereon’s good hand worked furiously at the control panel with all the speed that it could muster, as the old Jedi concentrated on the steady rehabilitation of his other hand on the spot. He consistently picked his shots, meticulously concentrating several volleys of fire toward the fleet's center to attempt to open up a pathway of escape, whilst Huyang in tandem directed shields to block their exposed flanks as best as possible to reduce the damage sustained. Meanwhile the ship began a furious B-Line as Jeh’Kant and his personal droid would coordinate several maneuvers on the fly to just barely evade the most lethal shots.

“And all this for little ole us? Wasn’t aware we had such staunch secret admirers,” Bereon said in sarcastic jest.

Huyang, the Professor

It was do or die, the entire might of Coruscant fleet faced against a single, old Jedi corvette that wasn’t equipped with shields powerful enough to last bombardment from turbolaser cannons. Bereon did his best in cleaving a clear path for them, but every enemy fighter that passed by them would only chase them from behind—if Huyang was to charge the power of the shield generators to the rear of the ship, a single blast from a turbolaser cannon would end their escape very short unless evaded perfectly. The second option was that Bereon shot as many chasing fighters down while letting them push forward, however a single shot to the main engines could similarly end their escape just as abruptly. The third option was to manage shields evenly and attempt to avoid fire from the turbolasers and the fire from the fighters behind. And that was the ideal option.

Huyang managed the controls to even out the power output from the shield generators across the Star of Tython, however this would now require coordination from both sir Kai and sir Bereon—Kai would have to avoid the turbolaser shots near perfectly, while Bereon would have to shoot as many fighters as possible.

”Sir Bereon, they’re using former Imperial military protocol. They committed entire fleets to fight small Rebel contingents in my day. Therefore, I have a suggestion. Sir Kai, use aggressive evasive maneuvers and fly us past but far away from the cruiser ahead to escape its traction zone. Sir Bereon, fire away.”

Huyang uttered through his vocal processors, guiding the Jedi onto right decisions while their ship kept being blasted at, sending tremors across the ship.

“Hold on!” Jeh’Kant yelled out as he immediately took full control over flight controls. Jeh’Kant pushed the controls forward as they immediately maneuvered into a twisting nose-dive. The fighters that had been following behind them would fire onto some of their own forces as the blasters would shoot toward the fighters in front of them and vice versa. Not all of them were removed, but more than enough as Jeh’Kant pulled back to put the ship so it was facing toward the atmosphere as he bobbed and weaved in and out in sporadic elements. Sometimes wide, sometimes narrowly, left, right — all in irregular patterns to throw off the enemy.

With Bereon on the canon and Jeh’Kant focussed mainly on evasive maneuvering, it would be Huyang’s job to use his best judgment, or rather calculations, when to punch them into hyperdrive. The turbolaser cannons would shoot out but Jeh’Kant would successfully evade them just before escaping their traction zone. “Punch it! Huyang!”

And this was the exact moment the trio had been looking for to be able to exploit the slight, but now present opening within the blockade. Bereon would then proceed to switch tactics to laying down suppressing fire toward the enemy fighters closest to the gap in a spiraling motion to force them to maintain their distance long enough for the ship to pass through so Huyang could make the call to jump into Hyperspace.

And before the enemy had the opportunity to recover from the sudden mad dash made, Jeh’Kant had managed to take advantage of the opening created and broke through the blockade. And without a second left to waste it was now up to the droid responsible for bringing the two Jedi together again to complete their escape.

Huyang monitored closely as the two Jedi succeeded in their actions, bypassing and eliminating the threat of the turbolaser fire and the fire from the A-wings on the rear. They were also at a sufficient distance from the battlecruisers to escape their traction zone, allowing them finally to pull away from their hyperspace interdictors, which was all that the droid ever required. His link was accessing the ship’s terminal, directly translating the hyperspace coordinates he had received from the resistance cell on Belsavis: they led to Vaiken Prime, a planet deep within the Maw region of the Akkadese Maelstrom. As the young Kai had maneuvered them into free space, he was quick to tell Huyang to ”punch it”, to which Huyang would respond promptly as Huyang’s left hand would push a lever that controls the ships’ hyperdrive engines.

”Affirmative”

Huyang responded, as the ship would shortly enter sub-lightspeed to jump into hyperspace
